How to Get Relief from Itchy Yeast Infection
Nothing is worse than the itchy, burning sensation of a yeast infection. Anyone who has experienced this symptom knows the extreme discomfort of vaginal or rectal itch. Fortunately, there are cheap, effective and natural methods to get relief from an itchy yeast infection.
Plain Yogurt
Yogurt contains good bacterial or probiotics that kill yeast and help restore bacterial balance in your body. For the purpose of gaining relief from itchy yeast infection, get a large container of plain yogurt with no sugar added. Yeast feeds on sugar so you do not want it in your yogurt.
Plain yogurt can help soothe the itching and burning sensation. For fast relief, you can freeze the yogurt into small cubes. Apply the frozen yogurt to the vagina or the affected area. The cold helps to relieve the discomfort while the yogurt works to kill the yeast.
You can also apply the yogurt using a tampon, medical syringe or baster. Apply the yogurt on the tampon and insert, or squirt it into the vagina with a syringe or baster. This can get messy so wear something to catch the yogurt as it comes out.
To get more of the good bacteria, you should eat yogurt while you still have the infection, and for the next couple of weeks. If you have a chronic yeast infection, it is a good idea to make yogurt part of your daily diet.
Apple Cider Vinegar
When your vaginal pH gets out of whack, candida yeast can multiply and cause a yeast infection. Apple cider vinegar helps restore and regulate normal vaginal pH. Dilute one tablespoon vinegar in one-half cup cold water and apply on the affected areas. This is only for external application. If you have recurring yeast infections, you may want to use the apple cider vinegar on a regular basis. This will help prevent yeast from accumulating.
You can also mix three tablespoons apple cider vinegar to a quart of warm water. Use this as a douche to relieve itching. An alternate method is to add one cup of apple cider vinegar to your bath water.
Probiotics/Acidophilus Bacteria
If you do not like yogurt you can take probiotics or acidophilus bacteria. You can get these online or from pharmacies. Make sure you get a reliable brand with a high count of good bacteria. To get relief from itchy yeast infection, open up two capsules and place the granules on the yeast infection. You can also put it in a little KY jelly and apply it to your vagina. If you don’t have the jelly, mix the granules with a little water to make a paste. Apply the paste on the affected parts.
It will also help to take probiotics orally. You can safely double the dosage and fight the yeast infection faster from the inside.
I suffered from terrible yeast infections for years before I finally found the solution. Now I'm healthy and couldn't be happier.
